Getting the seeds

The easiest way to get fuchsia seeds is to buy them in a special store. But you can also collect them from your personal beauty. To do this, with an opening bud of fuchsia, carefully remove the anthers and apply the pollen from the paternal specimen to the pistil. After that, the bud is gently covered with a cover made of gauze or paper. After a while, a fetus is formed in the place of the pollinated bud, in which the desired seeds are contained. The fruit is cut, and the seeds are dried for a while at room temperature.

Seed sowing

Sowing fuchsia seeds is best in the spring, in March-April. For sowing, you need to prepare a small container with a peat-sand mixture on the surface of which the seeds are spread. Then a mini-greenhouse is built above the container and placed in a well-lit warm place, carefully guarding against direct sunlight.

Care of crops

The appearance of the first shoots should be expected already after 1,5-2 weeks after sowing the seeds. All this time, the container should be ventilated with them daily, and the substrate in it periodically moistened, sprinkling with warm water from the spray gun. After the first shoots are slightly strengthened, the greenhouse above them is gradually removed. And after the appearance of real leaves, the fuchsia seedlings are dived in separate pots, removing weak and diseased plants.

When the fuchsia seedlings reach 8-10 cm, they are pricked by the tips, and side shoots are removed to form a beautiful bush.
