Materials for gel candles
For making candles from gel at home, we need the following materials:
- we will make a candle-aquarium, so we can not do without sea salt;
- handfuls of small shells;
- blue dye;
- special candle gel, which you can buy in the shops of goods for creativity;
- besides this, we need a wick;
- small round capacity.
We measure the amount of gel necessary for the candle and melt it in a water bath. To avoid the appearance of air bubbles in the gel, stir it with heat when you need it very carefully. When the gel is completely melted, all the same carefully add a little dye into it. If there is a desire to make a flavored candle, then aromatic oils should also be added at this stage. But it is very important not to overdo it, because an overabundance of essential oils will make your candle unpleasant to use and even harmful to health.
At the bottom of our tank-aquarium we pour a little sea salt, holding the container in an inclined position.
Top with salt put a few shells.
Now is the time to proceed to pour the candle gel into the container. This should be done quickly enough, but neatly.
We let the candle cool down a little, and start fighting with unwanted air bubbles that appeared on the surface of the gel. Get rid of them will help an ordinary needle, which they should simply pierce.
When the gel has cooled to room temperature, we insert a wick into it. Our candle-aquarium is ready!
