Herniated disc - treatment

Herniated discs are one of the most common diseases in the world. And if earlier people with old age suffered from back pain, now the treatment of the herniation of the intervertebral disc requires young people.

The emergence of a hernia is associated with a very thin cartilaginous plate that covers the body of the spine from the side of the disc. A crack appears in it, and as a result, blood flows into the substance of the disc and causes the rapid development of the disease.

When the herniation of the intervertebral disc occurs, the patient experiences frequent pain in the back and limbs, and also the posture is disturbed. Pain may increase depending on the size of the intervertebral hernia to the size of the spinal canal, where the spinal cord and its roots are located.

How to cure a herniated disc?

Treatment of disc hernia with the help of medications is useless. The maximum that you can achieve is to block the pain.

The next steps are prompt and conservative treatment. Removal of herniated disc by surgical treatment is an extreme measure, it is used only in cases when other methods of treating the back do not bring any changes. Also, the operation becomes irreversible, in the case of compression of the roots of the spinal cord and the violation of the pelvic organs. Surgical intervention is complicated by the fact that rehabilitation can last up to six months.

To date, there are conservative methods of treating a herniated disc of the spine. Manual therapy, according to specialists, takes no more than three months of treatment. At the same time, it has no contraindication and, with the right approach, guarantees a virtually 100% positive result.

Treatment of disc hernia without surgery

Most people prefer in the treatment of herniated intervertebral disc phytotherapy and medical decoctions. The most commonly used are fortifying agents containing many micronutrients and vitamins. For example, a mixture of chamomile, lime blossom and rose hips - perfectly strengthens the walls of the discs. For cooking, take a teaspoon of each of the herbs, pour boiling water and insist 15-20 minutes. Take should be inside by 1/3 cup before meals three times a day.

A good restorative means can be a mixture of 1 tbsp. l. raisins, walnuts, dried apricots, honey and juice half a lemon. Take this drug for 1 tsp. three times a day.

Herniated disc - exercises

During treatment, be sure to use exercise therapy, while do not forget about the basic rules of doing exercises. Restore intervertebral discs can only be through gradual movements, sharp ones can only bring harm.

Do exercises as often as possible, about 3 to 8 times a day. Separate different exercises at different times of day. Do not reload the diseased parts of the spine. Start with a small amplitude, gradually increasing it. Below is a small set of exercises for the treatment of hernia:

  1. Lying in bed, slowly pull the socks on yourself, while the head pulls on the chest - this action stretches the spine well.
  2. Lying on your back and combining the bent legs in your knees, twist the spine - turning your head in one direction, and knees in the other.
  3. Slightly running and warming up the body, begin to make the slopes to the sides, forward and backward (limit 20 repetitions).
  4. It well strengthens the back muscles a peculiar "bear walk". Stepping simultaneously on the hands and feet, try not to bend your knees.
  5. Sit on the floor, spreading your legs wide, stretch yourself to one or the other leg.
  6. Try to make a "birch" to bring your legs behind your head, holding them for a couple of minutes. Do not do this exercise through force, it is better to repeat it when the vertebral disks get stronger.
