Music for Pilates

When Joseph Pilates developed his system of exercises, he was confident that he was ahead of his time for half a century. And, probably, he was right. After all, today Pilates is much more popular than at the beginning of the 20th century, when people who were worried about the war time could not fully understand the benefits of this sport. Pilates was popular among professional dancers. He helped them to restore muscle after the performances.

Today Pilates is used in all spheres of life - in fitness, as training for weight loss, in exercise therapy, in postoperative rehabilitation.

Is the choice of music important for training?

Often people either neglect the musical accompaniment of training, or simply include what's horrible for the background. But you can not do this.

Music tunes in a certain way, the nature of the sport. And since each sport has its own individual "temperament" (the tension of different muscle groups, the style of movements, the tempo), then the accompaniment must be matched appropriately.

For Pilates music plays almost a decisive role, in many respects, the effect of classes will depend not even on your physical abilities, but on sounds.

Pilates is created for the purpose of uniting the soul and body, harmonizing all the processes that take place in the body. Just need to tune in the right way, and this is either music for practicing Pilates, or chirping around the spring birds. But the second is attainable only when practicing in nature.

Combine music and exercises

If you already have a developed and honed complex of exercises that you plan to perform in the same order for a long time, we recommend that you create a special song list consisting of melodies for Pilates that fully reflect the essence of each exercise.

Example from the classics:

In a word, music for pilates training can be not only a background of distracting you from everyday fuss, but also an assistant giving strength when it seems that the muscles have already refused to serve you.
