How to hang a chandelier?

After choosing the type of ceiling and luminaire, the question arises about the installation. It is quite possible to hang a chandelier on its own, since it does not require deep knowledge of electrical engineering, and all the necessary tools can usually be found in any apartment. There are three ways to properly hang a chandelier: using a hook, on a special bar or directly mounted to the surface.

How to hang a chandelier on a hook?

This option is one of the most common and proven. The hook can be different. In some houses there are still old models from construction, and in the store you can buy different types for heavy and not very light fixtures.

1. If your chandelier is relatively light, this is a metal hook for it. He is able to withstand up to four kilograms. Important point: never try to hang a chandelier on the plasterboard, because it simply can not stand. First attach the hook directly to the concrete wall, then begin the installation of the ceiling.
2. Hanging a heavy chandelier on such a hook will not work, as it requires a special anchor bolt with a spacer hook. In the ceiling, drill a hole of the required diameter, and then screw the bolt to the stop.
3. All the chandeliers, the design of which provides for this type of attachment, have characteristic features. The bowl can be moved freely along the rod, there is also a special hook and a junction box with wires. You just hang it and connect the wires, then put on the cup.
4. Before you hang the chandelier on the suspended ceiling , you must securely fix the wire and install a special thermo ring. It is necessary to protect the film of the tension ceiling from mechanical damage, withstands up to 100 degrees. From the ceiling to the chandelier bowl should be at least 2 cm. Otherwise, we use an additional hook or carbine.

How to properly hang the chandelier on the bracket?

1. In the design, there are two screws that are installed before installation and tightened with nuts. We will then attach the chandelier to them. The distance between the nuts is adjustable.
2. Before you hang the chandelier, in the ceiling with a perforator we drill two holes and insert the dowels. Then fix the bar.
3. To the two screws fix the chandelier: two pre-fixed screws must get into the holes on the base of the luminaire.
4. Now we fasten the design with two decorative fixing nuts.
5. That's how the lamp looks, ready to use.

Before you hang the chandelier on gypsum board, the bar must be fixed with screws to the supporting profile or concrete base. In this way, you can hang an LED chandelier, as all new models are equipped with just such slats, and the design does not fundamentally differ from models with incandescent paws.

How to hang a chandelier directly to a vertical or horizontal surface?

Sometimes for small ceiling lights the best location is the wall. Their installation is not much different from fixing the sconce.

1. In the construction of such luminaires there is a metal base, in which holes for fixing are provided.
2. In the wall we drill holes and insert dowels. Next, fix the base of the lamp.
3. This is how a similar ceiling mount looks. We make holes with a perforator in the ceiling and fix the base of the lamp.
4. We fix the plafond with special clips. All wires remain under the metal base.

As you can see, it is quite possible for a layman to independently install a chandelier. The main thing is to carefully study the connection scheme and select the fasteners correctly.
