Master-class "How to make a chaise longue made of wood"

The course of work is as follows:

  1. You will need wood screws (better to take anti-corrosion, which have the mark "for outdoor work"), a hammer, a crowbar, a drill, a screwdriver and an electric grinder. As for the tree, you can use both rails of fresh wood, and boards from pallets already in use. The advantage of the latter will be their cheapness. The boards with notches left after cutting a standard pallet will be used to make the chair frame, and all the rest will be used for seating, backrest and armrests.
  2. To make the frame of a chaise lounge made of wood with your own hands, the following drawings will be useful. Two boards with notches are sawn in such a way that their length is 95 cm. Then, at the top and bottom of each board, it is necessary to make cuttings at an angle of 20 °, the bottom of which is made with an indent from the edge of 3.2 cm.
  3. Then the crossbeams without grooves are screwed to the frame. The dimensions of the seat of a chaise longue made of wood made by hand from a pallet are as follows. Each crossbar has a length of 61 cm between them to leave a small space of not more than 2 cm. The length of the seat is approximately 50 cm.
  4. As for the backrest, its dimensions will be somewhat different. The length of the board should be 91.5 cm, and the logs - the same, made at an angle of 10 °, and without indentation. The length of the backrest is 61 cm, and the length of each crossbar is 56 cm. The distance between them should not exceed 2 cm.
  5. Measure from the front of the seat a deckchair of 52.7 cm. At this point, the backrest frame and seats will intersect. With the help of 4 screws, attach the two pieces of the deckchair to each other.
  6. Now you need to make two supports 51 cm long. Make marks on them at a height of 33.5 cm from the bottom. Screw these supports to the front of the seat. For each you need 3 screws.
  7. Similarly, we make armrests from boards without hollows. Each armrest is a length of 84 cm. It should be laid on the support at a right angle and screwed from both sides to the support and to the frame of the backrest.
  8. Then grind all the deck chairs and round the sharp corners. Do not forget to walk along the front edge of the seat.
  9. That's how you get the finished product, if you follow the instructions. Although, no matter how hard you try, you can not do exactly such a deck chair from the tree with your own hands - still it will be special. Each product is handmade original and unique, and this is a huge advantage of homemade furniture.
