Summer is an excellent occasion to demonstrate the beauty of your body, and even more so if you are going to spend your vacation on the beach. First of all, you should buy a fashionable swimsuit, and a light beach tunic of chiffon can be sewn on your own. This accessory to you on the beach is useful! In this master class we will tell you how to make a beach tunic of chiffon with your own hands, without using a pattern.
We will need:
- chiffon cut;
- braid;
- scissors;
- pins;
- sewing machine.
- Fold the chiffon cut in half so that the fold line is on the right side, and the future product is on top. Measure at the top of the width of the shoulders according to the length of the sleeve. Then from the fold, set aside a length equal to the distance from the shoulder to the armhole armhole.
- Trim the excess fabric under the sleeve and chamfer the side cuts with the pins. You should get a double rectangular piece with sleeves.
- Sew the tunic at the side seams using the "zigzag" line, since the chiffon has the property of crumbling. The line in the area of the armhole should be made in a semicircle, so that the tunic does not fray.
- After the side seams are ready, gently trim the excess tissue in the corners. Be extremely careful not to cut the thread!
- Turn out the tunic on the front side and iron the seams.
- Now it's time to start processing the neck of the tunic. First, determine its size and shape. In our example, the neck is oval, so from the center in both directions it is necessary to postpone 10 centimeters. In the same way, put down a few centimeters. The more the segment, the deeper the decollete will become.
- Using a sartorial ruler, draw a semicircular cut-out pattern of the neck. Bending it in half, you can make sure that the sides of the pattern are symmetrical. Cut out the finished template.
- Applying the template to the top edge of the tunic, circle it with chalk, prikolov to the tunic with pins. Cut out the neck.
- If you want the bottom edge of the tunic to be flat, skip this step. And in order to make it rounded, fold the product in half, mark the center with a pin, and with the help of a tailor's ruler, draw an arc. Cut off excess fabric.
- It remains to process the seams of the neck, sleeves and the bottom edge, and the beach tunic is ready. You can use for this purpose braid or a narrow satin ribbon, prikolov it with pins, and then stitching.
