How to teach a child to drink from a cup?

As soon as the child starts to confidently keep in an upright position (at 7-8 months), he can already begin his acquaintance with the cup. He will drink well in one day, and the baby will take time to learn how to use the cup, without spilling a drink.

Before you start a new activity and teach your child to drink from a cup, you need to buy this cup. Of course, you can get by with ordinary household utensils, but mom's task is to interest the baby, which means that his first cup should be bright, colorful with funny characters. In addition, the cup should be light and conveniently located in small handles, preferably with rubberized non-slip inserts.

If at the age of about one year the mother stops feeding the baby, then it is undesirable to go to the bottle, because this will complicate the learning process. Artists, too, the bottle is better to be phased out of use, preferring a cup.

At first, the child will drink very little fluid, and this will have to accept. If the mother does not get the baby from the bottle, then in a couple of weeks he will start drinking as expected.

The fossil can be used to adapt the baby before learning how to drink it from a cup. Over time, it will need to be left only for drinking outside the house.

How to teach a child to drink from a mug by himself?

The first steps in teaching the baby will be applying a mug with a couple of spoonfuls of water to his lips. Turn the cup slowly and gently, so that the child does not choke or get scared. One resulting sip is already a success, but do not rush things, because you will need to take a break, before you get used to doing a few sips in a row.

As soon as the child realizes that in order to get drunk, he needs to lift the cup, slightly tilting it, you can increase the amount of liquid. At first, there will be puddles on the floor and wet clothes, and therefore it is recommended that you have enough patience and waterproof bibs.

Typically, the child takes about 3-4 months to learn how to drink from the cup, but if the child categorically refuses to try a novelty or constantly bottles everything, do not despair, because everyone has a strictly individual timetable for learning this wisdom of life.
