Imitation of brick by own hands

Brick masonry gives the room warmth and coziness. For this, it is not necessary to lay a brick wall, you can imitate such a finish. Imitation masonry made of bricks is easy to make by hand with the use of mortar from plaster.

Wall decoration for brick

For work you will need:

  1. First you need to clean the wall from the wallpaper.
  2. Prepare a stencil with brick dimensions + seams.
  3. A wall from the lower left corner to the top is marked.
  4. The primer poured into a bowl. The roller is applied to the wall surface. It does not affect the pencil markup in any way.
  5. Simulation of masonry under the brick by own hands is made with the help of paint tape. First, horizontal, then vertical lines are glued.
  6. A solution consisting of tile adhesive and plaster in equal proportions diluted with water is mixed.
  7. The mixture is applied to the wall, it is randomly deformed by hands to obtain an arbitrary surface relief. Such a texture will resemble the texture of a stone or an aged brick. The solution layer can be up to 2 cm.
  8. With a slightly frozen solution, the horizontal and vertical strips of scotch are carefully removed together with the solution that has accumulated on them.

  10. To give them a shape, a regular table spoon is taken and the surface is rubbed with its edge, which is used as a scraper.
  11. The wall is cleaned with a broom and a wide brush.
  12. The primer is primed again. A wide brush is primed with bricks and seams between them.
  13. The result is a wall with the effect of the presence of aged brickwork.
  14. After that, the wall can be painted. In this case, the wall is painted with white paint to decorate the interior.
  15. Seams and bricks can be painted in different colors, so that the wall with the masonry looked more contrast.
