La Fortuna Falls

The waterfall of La Fortuna is perhaps one of the most famous waterfalls in Costa Rica . It is located in one of the national parks near the volcano Arenal and the lake of the same name. The waterfall makes a tremendous impression: a steep wall of water 65 meters high, surrounded by a fog formed from the smallest spray, and exuberant exotic vegetation creates a surprisingly harmonious picture. More details about it will be discussed later.

What to see?

The waterfall is considered one of the most accessible in Costa Rica : to see it, you just need to go down the stairs, even if it's steep enough. And those who are too lazy to do this, can admire it from above, with a specially equipped viewing platform.

The climb from the waterfall is steep enough, so older tourists and families with children are better off refraining from visiting, especially in the heat. The rest should take a drink with them. Descend best in sneakers or similar shoes, with you need to take slippers to feel comfortable near the lagoon at the foot of the waterfall. But note that during the rainy season the staircase can be slippery.
