The city of Linz is the third largest in Austria after Vienna and Graz. Compared to other cities, it was not so badly damaged during the bombing of Nazi Germany, which gives us an opportunity to get to know more closely the surviving monuments of culture of that time.

What to see in Linz?
Main square
Start our tour of the city, we offer a tour of the main attractions, among which the first important place is occupied by the Main Square. Its dimensions are truly impressive - over 13 thousand square meters. km. This area is the largest in Austria.
In the course of historical events this place has undergone changes many times, and in the 20th century it even bore the name "Adolf Hitler Square". In 1945, after the end of the war, the square got its original name, which is still to this day.

Old Town Hall
Initially, the structure was made in the Gothic style, as evidenced by several preserved halls, but in the middle of the 17th century the building was rebuilt in the Baroque style, as we see it today.
You can get acquainted with the history of the city by visiting the museum in the Town Hall, which is called "The Origin of Linz". Three times a day, you can hear tunes familiar to all local residents - on the high tower they are performed by a bells' orchestra, loved not only by many tourists, but also by local residents.

Holy Trinity Column
Not far from the Old Town Hall is another architectural monument - a 20-meter column of the Holy Trinity. Built in the beginning of 1723, the sculpture represents gratitude to the Lord for deliverance from the terrible epidemic of plague, for which the construction received another name - "plague".
