Lipofilling

The name of the method can be deciphered as "fat filling". Lipofilling is a surgical correction of age-related face changes and figure defects by transplanting the patient's fat cells from one place to another.

Types of lipofilling

Correction of the face:

In addition, lipofilling is used to correct the shape of other parts of the body and correct the shape:

Procedure

Lipofilling is performed under local or general anesthesia with the help of special needles. Fence and implantation of the material occurs through punctures in the skin, no more than 5 millimeters in size. After the operation, a patch is applied to the puncture sites, which remains for several days. Lipofilling refers to relatively simple surgical operations, the procedure itself rarely takes more than an hour. The patient can leave the hospital within a few hours after the operation, and the next day return to the usual way of life.

In the first days after lipofillinga there may be swelling and bruising in the puncture area, but usually they pass through a week and a half. The first month after the operation it is recommended to refrain from visiting baths, saunas, taking hot baths. Completely the results of lipofilling become visible only after 4-6 weeks, when the implanted tissue fully acclimates.

Side effects and complications

As a rule, the operation is sufficiently safe and the risk of developing any complications is very small. In most cases, such side effects as the appearance of bruising, swelling, decreased skin sensitivity are temporary and occur within one and a half weeks after the procedure. Of the long-term complications, the most aesthetic.

Uneven skin. The face can become tuberous, which clearly reduces the aesthetic effect of the operation. This is due to uneven fat or excessive resorption.

Asymmetry of forms. It happens because of more than necessary, the introduction of adipose tissue, which can cause asymmetry in those areas where lipophilia was carried out. Usually, doctors deliberately inject a little more fat than necessary, focusing on its absorption, and that only 80% of the cells survive. Completely avoid the risk of asymmetry will not succeed, but the more experienced surgeon performs the operation, the less it is. In some cases, it is possible to adjust by repeated operation.

Infectious complications. As with any surgical intervention, lipophilia also poses a risk of infectious complications. To avoid this, antibiotics can be prescribed in the postoperative period.

Persistent pain syndrome. It appears extremely rarely, but in the case of appearance it requires the identification of the cause and its correction by medication.

Atrophy of implanted fat cells. Danger is primarily a risk of inflammatory growth of tissues (granulomas). At the initial stage, this inflammation is treated with antibiotics and sulfonamides. In the event that the drug treatment does not work, the granulomas are surgically removed.

The Seromes. They represent a cluster of gray lymphatic fluid and manifest as light discharge from the postoperative wound. Eliminate by removing fluid from the wound in the first days after the operation.

Hematomas. Usually treated by lotions, pressing bandages and physiotherapy procedures. In the case of large and pronounced hematomas, the removal of blood from it can be applied by puncture.

Contraindications for lipofilling are any inflammatory diseases, chronic illnesses in the stage of exacerbation, diabetes mellitus and other diseases, leading to a violation of blood supply and a decrease in regeneration.
