Membrane shoes for children

Most parents prefer to buy their children a quality shoes. The weak point of many models, as a rule, is insufficient warming of children's legs and blotting in rainy weather or during melting of snow. But the health of the crumbs depends on it directly. But what kind of kid will refuse to frolic in the puddles or explore a snowdrift on the playground? Therefore, many parents pay attention to the so-called membrane shoes. Its popularity is growing every day. But what is the technology of membrane footwear, how to wear and care for it?

The principle of action of membrane shoes

This kind of "clothes" for the legs is made using a special technology with the use of a membrane, that is, a very thin film of a polymeric microporous material. But this is not the only layer in children's membrane shoes. The product consists of a warm lining (fleece, artificial fur or mesh fabric), the membrane itself and the top coat (textile, leather). The holes in the membrane gasket are so small that they do not let the water molecules pass, and so the foot does not get wet. Molecules of water vapor are smaller than the perforations of the membrane, the sweat is excreted perfectly, which means that the baby's leg remains dry, because the moisture does not accumulate in the boot. However, these qualities of children's winter membrane footwear only work if the child is mobile. It is also important to wear a baby's socks not from cotton, which absorbs sweat perfectly, but from synthetic fabrics or thermoswitches.

The most popular brands of winter membrane footwear for children are the Norwegian Viking, the German Ricosta, the Austrian Superfit, the Danish ECCO, the Finnish Reima, the Italian Scandia. You can recognize membrane shoes by inscription on its label Sympatex, Gore-Tex or tec.

Care of membrane footwear

If you intend to purchase such shoes for your beloved child, you should familiarize yourself with the rules for the care of membrane footwear, otherwise it will lose its properties. So, for example, in case of contamination, leather up products are washed with warm water with a brush, and a textile sponge is soaked in water or in soapy water.

Regarding how to dry membrane shoes, everything is quite definite here: it's strictly forbidden to use heaters or central heating batteries, otherwise the membrane will melt. Just leave the shoes or boots at room temperature or shove in the newspaper, periodically changing them.

Shoes should be treated after drying. There is a cream for membrane shoes, which has water-repellent properties. If the top is made of textiles, special impregnation is required, which also prevents moisture absorption. If you follow the rules of use and care, the membrane shoes will warm your baby's legs.
