Mount Monte Bret is located near the city of Lugano , is part of the Swiss Alps and at the same time the sunniest place in the country. Probably, therefore, its slopes are strewn with a rare kind of plants - Christmas roses that blossom only here. The height of Monte Bray reaches 925 meters.
This mountain in Switzerland is interesting because it is considered inhabited, for the most part people live. From the far north, Monte Bray is full of a variety of houses, which are especially interesting to watch at night, when lights turn on in their windows. On one of the slopes of the mountain, at an altitude of about 800 meters, the village of Bre, in which no more than three hundred people live, is broken up. Despite the small size, the village has a landmark - the museum of the artist Wilhelm Schmid. Most of his works are made in the style of magical realism. It is impossible not to say about the richest flora of the Monte-Bre. Here you will see white-birch birches, mighty oaks, beeches and chestnuts. Among the animals inhabiting the mountain, wild boars, badgers, foxes are most common.
What awaits tourists on Monte Bray?
For more than a century, an elevator has been working on Monte-Bré, the cabins of which successfully deliver the desiring to its summit. In addition, there are organized hiking trails and educational routes, the most popular is "Nature and Archeology." From the top of Monte Bret there are magnificent views of the nearby city of Lugano, the lake of the same name, the Pennines and the Bernese Alps.
How to get there?
To get from the city of Lugano to the mountain of Monte Bret you can by bus, departing from the center and the next to the station Cassarate. It is still possible to use the services of a funicular located at the foot of the mountain, which will take you to the top.
