Ptuj Castle

The settlement of Ptuj is the oldest in Slovenia . This city has an amazing history, which starts from ancient times. On the narrow streets of the city were still Roman legions, one of them was under the leader of the great Marcus-Anthony Prima. Then the city was called Petavio, and from that time only the layout of the central square and some elements in the antique style remained. In the middle ages, the city served as a trading stop, and later people began to choose it for permanent residence, because here it was quiet and comfortable. Ptuj Castle is the main attraction of the city.

Ptuj Castle is a monumental structure, where on one of the walls there are a large sundial. The castle belongs to the middle of the 12th century and towers over the city like an unbreakable structure.
