Structure of the medicine
The drug contains potassium asparaginate hemihydrate and magnesium asparaginate tetrahydrate. These active substances are a source of potassium and magnesium ions.
As auxiliary components in the preparation is used:
- silicon dioxide colloidal;
- talc;
- povidone;
- corn starch and potato starch;
- magnesium stearate.
The tablets have a protective coating, which in turn consists of macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide, talc, methacrylic acid copolymer.
If there are specific indications for use, then Panangin is used for injections: the drug is also sold in the form of a solution for intravenous administration. It contains potassium aspartate and magnesium asparaginate, and water for injection as an auxiliary component.
Why use Panangin?
Cations of magnesium and potassium are found in the cells of the body, responsible for the processes of muscle contraction and the production of certain enzymes. The ratio of them with sodium ions affects the work of the myocardium. If the potassium content in the cells is inadequate, it can lead to the development of arrhythmia (heart rhythm disturbance), arterial hypertension (stably low pressure), tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) and deterioration of myocardial contractility in general.
Magnesium reduces the heart rate, prevents ischemia of the myocardium and reduces its need for oxygen. Physicians found that asparaginate well tolerates magnesium and potassium ions, contributing to their penetration into the cells and thus improving the work of the heart and metabolic processes in general.

- hypokalemia (potassium deficiency in the body);
- rhythm disturbance due to overdose of medicines from digitalis herb (digitalis);
- coronary insufficiency;
- metabolic disorders of the myocardium, associated with its insufficient supply of oxygen;
- a newly developed violation of the rhythm of the ventricles of the heart;
- atrial fibrillation paroxysms.
Mode of application
The drug is advised to take after a meal, otherwise the acidic environment of the stomach will reduce its effectiveness. Prescribe 1-2 tablets, which you need to drink three times a day.
Sometimes indications for the use of Panangin require intravenous drip administration of the drug. The procedure is repeated after 4-6 hours. At a time, you can pour in no more than 2 ampoules.

It should be noted that Panangin, the indications for the use of which are given above, has an analog - Asparkam preparation. They are absolutely identical in chemical composition, but Panangin, being an original and patented medicine, costs more. It is believed that the raw materials used in it are more purified. There is another advantage: Panangin is available in the form of a dragée with a protective coating, and Asparcum is only in the form of tablets. The first option is acceptable for patients suffering from inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases.
