Language - a mirror of health

It turns out that every person can be a diagnostician of their own health, and the only "device" that is needed is a mirror. Just sticking out your tongue in front of the mirror and assessing its appearance, you can suspect the presence of certain diseases or, conversely, make sure that everything is in order with the body.

Diagnosis by language in oriental medicine

Most carefully, the system of examining the language as an indicator of the state of health is developed in traditional Chinese medicine, and this diagnosis takes second place in it (after diagnosis by pulse).

According to Chinese doctors, the examination of the language allows you to judge the condition of internal organs, and the mucous cover - about the impact of pathogenic factors on them. When examining the tongue, take into account its shape, color, mobility and size.

It is believed that signs of malfunctions in the body in the language are manifested earlier than other symptoms (eg, pain). That's why the diagnosis of the language is becoming more popular.

What does the language of a healthy person look like?

If the organism is okay, the tongue has a smooth surface of pale pink color and is covered with a barely noticeable whitish coating (which forms on the teeth). The tongue looks velvety because of the large number of papillae that are clearly visible on its surface. The medial fold of the healthy person's tongue is even, without bends. The language should normally be symmetrical and of normal size (not beyond the line of teeth).

What does the color change mean?

  1. Crimson color - a sign of poisoning the body, infectious diseases.
  2. Bright red color - signals about violations of cardiac activity, lung diseases, blood or infectious processes.
  3. Dark red color - renal or toxic disorders.
  4. Bluish color - heart problems, circulatory disorders.
  5. Purple is a manifestation of serious diseases of the blood or lungs.
  6. Gray color is a sign of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
  7. Black color - evidence of possible cholera infection
  8. A discolored, pale tongue is a sign of anemia, exhaustion of the body, pathologies of the liver or gallbladder.

Plaque in the language - a sign of illness

A thin coating indicates the initial stage of the disease, and a thick coating indicates a chronic process. If the plaque after a time varies in thickness, then its thinning is a sign of recovery, and thickening - the progression of the disease.

It matters which part of the language is "laid":

Other signs of diseases in the tongue

  1. Curvature of the midline of the tongue:
  • Imprints of teeth in the tongue speak of dysbiosis and slagging of the body.
  • Cracks in the tongue - a sign of diseases of the blood, endocrine system, kidneys.
  • Change the size of the language:
  • Sores in the tongue signal for increased acidity of the stomach.
  • The absence of papillae in the tongue can talk about cancer.
  • How correctly to conduct self-diagnosis on language?

Diagnosis by language should be carried out in the morning on an empty stomach with good daylight (not artificial) lighting. Before this, rinse your mouth with water (but do not brush your teeth and tongue). It should be borne in mind that with the use of certain products, the surface of the tongue can be stained.
