Police Museum (Kuala Lumpur)

Description

The museum was opened in 1958 and housed in a small wooden building. The collection was constantly replenished, and places were sorely missed. In 1993, the administration of the institution decided to erect a new building.

In gallery A you will learn the history of the Malaysian police. It begins with the pre-colonial period and ends with the present time. Visitors will be able to see how during this period the law-enforcement system of the state has changed. The exposition is presented by:

On the mannequins you will see a police uniform. By the way, in the state, many Muslim women work in this sphere and for them even developed special clothes that meet all religious requirements. In the first hall guests will get acquainted with various weapons (from asymmetrical daggers to guns) used by employees in the fight against crime in different centuries.

In Hall B you will see the exhibits confiscated by the police. They were selected at different times by political and criminal groups, and also seized from triads. For visitors, an interesting collection of weapons, which was used by local clans in the 70s of the twentieth century with armed attacks.

A separate place in the museum's exposition is occupied by an arsenal of confiscated goods, which was selected in the fight against the Communists. The collection has quite interesting exhibits, for example, a scarf made by leftist forces in the 50s of the 20th century. Its highlight is that it develops in a special way, and the resulting picture is pornographic in nature.

Features of visit

The Police Museum is open every day, except Monday, from 10:00 am and until 18:00 pm. Entrance to the institution is free, and in the halls there are air conditioners that save from heat and stuffiness. Most of the exhibits are signed in English. The exposure is not allowed here.

How to get there?

From the city center to the museum you can walk on Jalan Perdana street or take the ETS bus, the stop is called Kmuter. The distance is less than one kilometer.
