One of the dosage forms of Polyoxidonium is a tablet containing 6 mg or 12 mg of the active ingredient - azoxime bromide. The composition of tablets Polyoxidonium includes also auxiliary substances:
- mannitol;
- betacarotene;
- povidone;
- lactose monohydrate;
- starch;
- stearic acid.
This form of release is intended for oral administration (inside) and sublingual (sublingual), depending on the type of disease.

Oral administration of the medication is recommended more often in chronic recurrent upper respiratory tract diseases. Sublingual Polyoxidonium can be used in the following pathologies, occurring in acute and chronic form:
- inflammatory processes in the oral cavity;
- infection of the ENT organs, upper respiratory tract;
- allergic diseases, complicated by a bacterial, fungal and viral infection.
Also, the drug is prescribed for preventive purposes in such cases:
- in the pre-epidemic period to reduce the risk of contracting influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections;
- to reduce the likelihood of seasonal exacerbation of infectious foci of the respiratory system, middle and inner ear and herpetic infection .
Polyoxidonium in tablets can be recommended for restoring and maintaining the immune defenses of the body with secondary immunodeficiencies that occur under the influence of unfavorable factors, long-lasting severe pathologies or as a result of natural aging.
How to take Polyoxidonium in tablets?
The scheme of medication intake is determined by the attending physician individually depending on the severity of the course of the pathological process. In most cases, the dosage is 12-24 mg 1-3 times a day. The minimum duration of the therapeutic course is 5-10 days. Take Polyoxidonium tablets for half an hour before a meal.
