Poof is an extremely useful piece of furniture, which can be found in any part of the house. In addition to extraordinary comfort, modern puffs are famous for interesting designs, but sometimes such a simple interior detail can cost a decent amount of money, despite its external simplicity. How to save money and make a puff with your own hands, we will tell in this article.
How to make a puff with your own hands?
Armchair-pouf, pouff-pear and pouffe bags are easily made by hand, and the costs of their production are simply not comparable with the purchase of the finished product.
It is possible to make a chair-pouf, simply having upholstered any skeleton with a soft cloth and foam rubber. Another interesting option - pouf, which is based on 10-12 glued plastic bottles. They are covered with a circle of chipboard from above and below, and then, as usual, are covered with foam rubber and any cloth.
It's slightly harder to sew a pouff-bag that outperforms its wireframe version in comfort.
We need:
- 12 pieces of multi-colored fabric;
- 1 m of muslin;
- 1.3 kg of any soft filler;
- 2 large buttons;
- thread, needle, scissors, sewing machine.
- First, make a pattern as in the picture (the width of the piece is 15 cm, the length is 30 cm).
- From 12 different colored pieces we cut out 2 pieces of each color according to the pattern. In addition, we cut out 24 pieces of muslin of similar shape and size, as a lining under the fabric.
- Sew the pieces more conveniently by sandwiching the fabric with pins: 2 colored layers and 2 layers of muslin.
- Sew the pieces from the wide part to the narrow one.
- We smooth the seam with an iron.
- To the already sewn pieces we attach one more, according to a similar principle.
- We continue sewing the pieces of fabric with a flower. When half the "flower" is ready, proceed to the second half, and then sew them together.
- Now we sew the bottom of the pouffe: we put already sewn half and we distribute chunks on colors. We sew the bottom in the same way.
- Now we connect the upper and lower parts of the pouffe and fix them with pins. Stitched from the wrong side, with an allowance from the edge of 1,5-2 cm. Leave 6-8 cm uncrossed, in order to fill our piece of furniture.
- Nabil? Now sew the hole with a hidden seam by hand.
- It remains to sew the button in the center, and our puff is ready!
