Rococo in the interior is known for its brightness, richness of color, luxury and intricacy. However, despite the unusual for our century abundance of all elements present, the interior design in the Rococo style will always look elegant. Rococo as a style appeared between 1700 and 1780 in Western Europe, finding its place not only in painting and architecture, but also in music. The French term "rocaille" means asymmetrical patterns depicting natural curls on trees, sea shells, clouds or flowers. Since it is from this term the name of the style has gone, it is not difficult to imagine which motif is basically inherent in the rococo style.
In some sources, rococo is also called late baroque, however, unlike the latter, the rococo style features the presence of new motifs that came much later. In the rococo, elements of the oriental style were integrated with time. Square forms have been replaced by meandering lines and shapes. What has remained unchanged in rococo since the Baroque times, is the love of complex interlacing.
As for the Rococo style in the modern interior, it still contains a large amount of gold, contrasting with gentle pastel shades. In fact, the interior of the rococo blends trends from China, Italy, as well as Gothic motifs. Thus, in our time a large number of richly decorated interiors can be attributed to rococo. Gold stucco is also inherent in the interior in the oriental style, but rococo is easily recognized as much more European. He is slightly more strict: in a room in the style of rococo you will not find so many pillows and soft sofas. However, this does not make this style less cozy. The only thing is that it has a little more elegance and there is absolutely no swagger.
Rococo style furniture
Furniture in the style of rococo is usually made of mahogany and is covered with leather, brocade or velvet. It looks incredibly beautiful in the bedroom or in the Rococo living room. In this regard, the kitchen in the Rococo style is losing greatly, as the upholstery materials are rather marble and their beauty is at odds with the practicality vital for the arrangement of the kitchen. Typically, the design of furniture is very intricate, with exquisite carving, which emphasizes the rather feminine curves of each object.
Rococo was one of the first styles where the interior was given special attention. For the first time they began to attach great importance to the location of furniture and how it is combined with the rest of the interior. Ornaments were to complement each other, often painted on the walls in the same subject as furniture. Colors inherent in the style of rococo
French Rococo is widely known for combinations of yellow, pink, ivory and gold, as well as sky-blue and cream color. You can say that the chip of this style is the combination of pastel shades and gold.
Another important feature of the Rococo interior is the use of mirrors and the escape from sharp lines, even the rooms were built in streamlined shapes - ovals or circles. Thus, in order to create an authentic Rococo interior, one needs not only to pay attention to a huge number details, but also to start thinking about the interior even at the time of the design of the house, in order to achieve the ideal sensation of that era.
