The Stockholm metro is the only one in Sweden and one of the largest in the whole world. The length of the lines there is 105.7 km per 100 stations. Stockholm metro map

The metro system has three branching lines. On the Stockholm metro map, you will find the green, red and blue lines that converge on the T-centralen station. At this point there is the Central Railway Station, from this place you can go anywhere in the world.

Each station has a special board, where information is posted on the train's route, the direction of its movement and the terminal station.

How much does the metro cost in Stockholm?

The fare in the Stockholm metro is quite high by our standards. The whole city is conditionally divided into three zones. The center belongs to zone A. To travel there, you need to purchase two coupons, the cost of each 20 kroons. To be able to travel for longer distances, but within the "civilization", you will have to part with 40 kroons. But for trips to distant places and outskirts, you must purchase coupons for the amount of 60 kroons. So to the question of how much the metro costs in Stockholm, you can safely answer - it's expensive. The only thing that really pleases us is the opportunity to use other types of transport on bought coupons. Any trip begins with the purchase of a coupon from a cashier or driver. Further you order the necessary station and to you directly on the place the cashier puts a seal on coupons with a current time, range of a trip. Such a ticket will be valid in all modes of transport but only for an hour.

For the sake of justice, it should be noted that such a high cost of travel is justified by the quality of the communication lines and the special design of the stations. And for the standard of living in this country, this cost is quite affordable.

Unusual metro in Stockholm

The traffic on the lines in the metro of this city is left-sided, it was exactly this during the construction of the subway, it did not change. On the scoreboard at each station, full information about the train is displayed: the route number, the terminal station, the arrival interval and even the number of wagons, and below the ticking line the same information about the next two trains is shown.

Separately it is worth mentioning about escalators. If they do not have a single person, some of them slow down, others stop altogether. The fact is that they are equipped with motion sensors on metal plates lying in front of the steps. In addition, above each escalator hang a scoreboard with pointers, exactly where the tape is moving.

It was said above that the subway in Sweden is not quite ordinary. The fact is that each station there has its own unique design. It is believed that the most beautiful metro station Stockholm are located on the blue line.

Interior can be in any style: modern, country or ancient Greek. There, even fountains and pictures from the mosaic very harmoniously coexist with escalators and trains. For example, a station called Vreten is cut in a rock. Its walls are decorated with cubes of sky-blue color, sticking out of the ceiling and walls. But the station Tensta - this station comes from childhood. It is all painted with children's drawings and decorated with figures of birds on the ceiling. T-centralen is also very spectacular due to the huge column of blue color that goes into the rocks. Even if the station does not have a fancy design, its walls are decorated with paintings, photographs in the Art Nouveau style.
