The Gotland Art Museum

History of creation

The Art Museum on the island of Gotland was opened in 1988 in the building of a former elementary school and then a gymnasium at St. Gansgatan. The author of the project was the architect K. Bergman. Most exhibits to the museum were donated by private individuals, the rest were purchased by the Gotland Art Association.
