Lipno

Lake Lipno is located in the Czech Republic in South Bohemia about 30 km south-west of Cesky Krumlov . It appeared after the dam on the Vltava River was built. The length of the coastline of the reservoir exceeds 140 km, and its length is more than 40 km.

Lipno and its environment are very beautiful and are an excellent addition to the Sumava National Park .

Lake Lipno is well-known for the opportunity to practice water sports. It's nice to go sailing, surfing, water skiing or canoeing. Also organized excursions on boats with food and drinks. The pond is also well known for fishing : carp, pike and perch are caught here. Fishermen stop at numerous campsites on the shore.

Lake Lipno among tourists is very popular. This is one of the most famous Czech spas. The Austrians and the Dutch go there with pleasure. There are many hotels, campsites and restaurants here. Lipno offers water entertainment for all ages, biking or just walking along the beach.

Attractions Lipno nad Vltavou

This tiny village on the shore of the lake is also widely known thanks to such places:

  1. Ecological path Lipno. This is a terrific attraction - a barrier-free wooden path that leads from the ground level to a platform 24 m high. From there you can climb to the top of a tower 40 meters high and make extraordinary photos of Lipno. It is a very pleasant walk surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes of the Czech Republic.
  2. Ski resort . Here are excellent conditions for beginners and snowboarders. This is an ideal place for families and those who want to learn how to ski and snowboard. The resort has 11 km of tracks, most of them - simple.
  3. The Šumava Mountains. This is a paradise for hiking, you can go to the rocky promontory of the Vltava River in front of the dam and see the river, forest and mountains .

How to get there?

In Prague, you need to take the P4 bus and ride it to the Lodz stop. There, take the Leo Express bus and go to the stop Włocławek, where you take a taxi to Lipno.
