Those who wish to admire the architectural monument and at the same time find the source of inspiration, must visit the National Gallery of Macedonia, located in the heart of the country, the capital of Skopje, a city known since the time of the Roman Empire.

History of National Gallery of Macedonia
The Macedonian National Gallery was founded in 1948 and today it is the most ancient cultural structure of the state. Its total area is 900 m 2 .
The most interesting thing is that the building, which now houses this corner of art and inspiration, was built in the second half of the 15th century. It was built on the orders of the Turkish commander Daut Pasha. Then the walls were decorated with a mysterious oriental ornament, which in some places was preserved until our time. In the period 1979-1982. The National Gallery of Macedonia has completely changed: each room is decorated with a dome with a radial hole in the center, through which diffused light enters. How to get there?
The National Gallery is a 15-minute walk from the main square of Macedonia, as well as the Vardara waterfront. If you are at the central railway station of Skopje, then following the boulevard of Macedonia, you can easily reach the gallery. It is also easy to get there by public transport: near the entrance to the museum there is the Medical Uchilishte stop where you will take bus number 9.
