Troll Park

On the second largest island in Norway - Senja - is the fabulous Troll Park, where you can get to know the most popular heroes of Norwegian folklore - trolls, and have a great time at numerous "troll attractions".

Acquaintance with the park

The trolley park in Norway is the most visited; This is a favorite holiday destination for both tourists and native Norwegians. The park is also known for its prints of hands, feet and autographs of various celebrities on its concrete slabs. There is an interesting legend: if you make a wish, looking at the sunset, the trolls will certainly make every effort to fulfill it.

The biggest troll and his wife

The largest troll in the park is the largest in the world; this fact is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. The "growth" of the stone master of the island of Senya is almost 18 m, and the weight is 125 tons. Inside the Great Troll is a museum in which various scenes from fairy tales and legends about trolls are recreated.

It was created in 1993, and in 2007 a spouse appeared at the troll, which is not much inferior to her husband: her height is 14.4 m and weight is 74.5 tons. It is often called the Old Karg (Kjerringberget). Inside the trolls there is an ice rink, on which there are often various ice shows.

A train

In addition to the many children's playgrounds, the Trolley Park offers to the kids the original Sesame train, known on the series "Sesame Street".

The wall of the nipple

Another interesting attribute of the park is the Wall of the Nipple. Kids from all over Norway, grown up from the "age of pacifiers", send their nipples here, to the Great Troll, thereby demonstrating that they will not need this attribute of infancy.

Shop and cafe

In the park there is a store of "special crafts", where you can buy troll figurines and other souvenirs . The most popular of these is the trolley mitt, because it is believed that it brings good luck. On the territory of the park there is also a cafe, in which small visitors are served by trolls and trolls.

How to visit the park?

From Oslo, you can fly to Andenes by plane; flight will take 2 hours 40 minutes. From Andenes to the park can be reached by car for 6.5-7 hours: either by E10 or Fv82 (this route provides ferry service). Both land routes are circular: by sea, directly, the park can be reached much faster. Rather, on the boat you can swim to Torxena, and from there you can drive to the park in just 20 minutes.

The park is open only in the summer months. It is open from 9:00 to 20:00. During July, the Trolling Stones rock band can be seen (and heard) in the park every day. From the end of June to the first of August (dates in different years can vary) every day at 13:00 and at 16:00 here you can become a spectator and a participant in a magic show with fairy tales, songs and a disco.
