Is it possible to breastfeed mom no-shpu?

Ideally, a pregnant woman and a nursing mother should not take any medications. But often it happens that one can not do without them. We have to look for ways of least harm to the health of the child in the treatment of this or that illness of his mother.

In principle, no-spa is the safest and at the same time effective antispasmodic. It is often prescribed to pregnant women to relieve uterine spasms. In the postpartum period, it is prescribed to women to relieve pain in the pelvic area and abdomen with uneven uterine contractions. Such a phenomenon threatens to disrupt the outflow after delivery and, as a consequence, the appearance of septic complications. Therefore, the doctor appoints no-shpu during lactation to relieve spasms.

Is it possible to drink no-shpa nursing?

If this drug is prescribed for single use and in a therapeutic dose, it does not have a significant negative effect on the baby. In this case, it can be argued that nursing mother no-shpa is allowed.

When lactating, no-shpa is absorbed into the bloodstream and enters the breast milk. But with a short reception, there is no need to interrupt feeding, because it does not affect the system and organs of the baby.

Prolonged reception of no-shpy during breastfeeding?

Sometimes it happens that the doctor, for whatever reason, prescribes to the nursing woman a long-term intake of this antispasmodic. What to do in this case?

If the course of taking no-shpah is 2-3 days, then you can try only for a while to wean the baby from breast by resuming breastfeeding after the end of the medication. If the condition of a woman requires a longer reception no-shpy, most likely, breast-feeding will have to stop altogether.

This is due to the fact that some components of the drug when accumulating in the body of a baby can have a negative (toxic) effect on it. For the same reason, no-shp is not prescribed for children under the age of 6 years.
