Terrace ladder

In the south of Sweden , the city of Helsingborg is located. One of its main attractions is the fortress of Chernan , for which the Swedes and Danes fought for more than 20 years. Until now, from the legendary structure remained only the tower, which is the symbol of Helsingborg. The tower and main square of the city Konsul Trapps is connected by a Terrace staircase, which every guest of the city should visit. Its second name is the Ladder of the Ladder of King Oscar II.

Construction of stairs

The terrace ladder was built over a hundred years ago - in 1899-1903. The architect of this building is Gustav Amin. During the big trade exhibition, which took place nearby, the opening of the staircase took place.

The main architectural features of the Terrace ladder are the following:

  1. The design consists of two parts. The lower one is made of granite in the Baroque style, and the upper part is built of brick and has the features of the Middle Ages.
  2. Above the stairs are two brown brick towers, connected by arches. They are the vestibule to the tower of Karnan and, as it were, emphasize its greatness.
  3. Decorates the Terrace staircase with a fountain with stone bowls. It is located on the terrace between the levels. Its bowls are set in arches.

Climbing the Terrace stairs to the towers, tourists can use the elevators, which will lift them to a height of 33 m, and get on the observation deck. Currently, there are 3 elevators. The first was commissioned in the early twentieth century, and the latter - at the end of the century.

Swedes are very attentive to their sights and constantly repair this structure, if there is even the slightest need. The last repair took place in 2010.
