In 1976, a second runway was built, and in 1999 - the main runway was increased. For today the passenger traffic of the airport is more than 20 thousand people.

Airport Today

Flights to the island are carried out by Estonian airlines Avies and Estonian Air, and do it in turn - every year a tender for flights is conducted.

In the warm season and on weekends in Kuressaare, Estonians and foreign tourists from the mainland travel, so it becomes lively at the airport. In the airport building on the second floor there is a comfortable hotel with five double rooms, where everything is available. The cost of the room is 20-30 euros / day.

On arrival, it is better to take a taxi or use public transport to get to the city. But if you arrive in Kuressaare on a weekday, be prepared to rely only on your own resources - the revitalization at the airport reigns only on weekends.
