Lipskaya Cave


Montenegro is known for its natural attractions . One of them is the Lipska cave (Lipska pećina). It is located 5 km from the city ​​of Cetinje .

general information

For the first time the grotto began to be explored in the middle of the XIX century, to the present day the records and notes of scientists have reached. These documents are based on today's speleologists, leading observations and studies of the cave. Since that time, steps have been preserved here, cut by the pioneers in the rock.

The cave has a total length of 3.5 km, which includes tunnels, corridors and halls, amazing with its pristine beauty. The difference between the heights is about 300 m. Here, a constant air temperature is maintained, fluctuating from +8 to +12 ° C, so do not forget to take with you from home or purchase warm clothes at the ticket office: a raincoat, helmets and boots, the price is 1-3 Euro.

In Lipskaya cave, nature created amazing wrack formations (stalagmites and stalactites) and karstic deposits. They produce an indelible impression on the visitors. In the grotto is also located a huge gallery, the Nygosh Hall and a crystal room, and there is an underground pool.

Cave formations along with rock stones very often have original and fanciful shapes of various sizes. For example, some remind the castle of elves, and others - of dead guards. Along the walls in the grotto there are build-ups, obtained from the unceasing combination of rocky rocks. There are more than 1000 speleological objects, which are protected by the state.

In 1967, the cave was opened for tourists, accompanied by a professional guide. A few years later, there was a flood, and the grotto was closed for restoration. Since 2015, he is again ready to receive visitors.

You can visit the tourist attraction every day from May to October from 9:00 to 20:00. There are 2 types of excursions, one of them lasts 45 minutes (length of 400 m), and the second - 1.5 hours (the length of the path is about 1 km). Depending on the time chosen, the price varies: 7 or 20 euros for adults, 4 or 10 euros for teenagers (5 to 15 years), and for children under 5 years - 3 and 7 euros, respectively. If you come here as part of an organized group, you can get a discount on the ticket price.

Still there is a tour of the "treasure hunt" in the format of the quest. It lasts from 2.5 to 3 hours. The tour is conducted in English, with the guide using simple sentences. Sometimes, if you ask a lot, you can speak Russian, but not everyone knows it and it's not perfect.

Behavior rules

Being in a cave, you should remember that you can not touch stalactites and stalagmites, because these minerals are formed from an aqueous solution, and the skin fat of a person can change the surface, stain it, or affect further formation. In the grotto, photography with a flash is prohibited.

At the entrance all tourists are given lanterns, which can not be released from the hands during the whole excursion.

How to get there?

From Budva to the city ​​of Cetina can be reached by bus (the price is 3 euros). The remaining distance is most conveniently covered by a taxi (5 euros). You can immediately come by car on the road M2.3 (distance 33 km). To the very entrance to the cave tourists will drive bright trains.
