The Perichnik Falls

One of the most beautiful and famous waterfalls in Slovenia is Pernicov. He is located in the Valley of the Gates, in the middle of the Julian Alps. After the end of the Ice Age, a huge glacier turned into the famous blue lakes, or the so-called Triglav lakes . Among the many waterfalls from the mountain slopes, here near the highest mountain of Triglav is the waterfall Perichnik.

What is interesting for the waterfall Perichnik?

The waterfall Perichnik is a part of the Triglav National Park and is protected by the state. The natural landmark is 5 km from the village of Mojstrana and flows into the Bistritsa stream. From this place you can admire the greatness of the Julian Alps, and their northern part, where the highest mountain Triglav is located - the second most difficult mountain climbing in Europe from the words of climbers.

The waterfall Pericnic develops as if from two waterfalls. The upper stream has a duration of about 16 m, and the lower one - 52 m. It's very easy to get to the bottom, but for safety it's worth to arm yourself with a helmet and a vest. To get to the top you need to equip yourself with a mountain device or hold on to the hanging roots of trees, but you can also admire the beautiful landscapes from below.

To the waterfall is a steep climb, it is small, but to feel the power of nature, it is worth going up. Here you experience an indescribable ecstasy, the stream of water rushes down with great force and breaks down into rocks, and then the splashes of the waterfall scatter to the sides a few meters.

The waterfall Perichnik is special, under its water flow one can easily pass and feel the rain from small and large jets of water. Being under the rock of the waterfall, you can feel the water from all sides. However, there are places that remain completely dry, you can easily admire the waterfall without the possibility of completely getting wet and you can make some magnificent shots.

Even in winter, the waterfall is very beautiful, because there are many icicles in green and blue colors. Near the waterfall is a karst cave with nature-created stalagmites and stalactites. Also nearby the waterfall is a mountain hut, where they provide hot food and rest.

How to get there?

The waterfall Perichnik is located on the territory of the Triglav National Park , which can be reached by bus from Bled .
