The Turkish House of Kaitaz

The attraction is in the small town of Mostar of Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is a beautiful house in which the decoration and appearance are carefully preserved for already 4 centuries. It is a national UNESCO World Heritage Site.

History of occurrence

The house of Kaytaz was built at the end of the XV century. The Turks ruled at that time, so the building absorbed as much as possible all the intricacies of Ottoman architecture. The house has massive wooden gates, an obligatory fountain pouring from a copper jug in the courtyard, comfortable benches for rest. On the second floor leads a narrow and steep staircase - in the best traditions of the Ottoman era.

The house has a hinged verandah. If you are lucky enough to get there, you will have a beautiful view of the Neretva river , so be sure to take a camera with you.

Interior decoration

Tourists often do not believe that the house of Kaytaz is residential. Everything here breathes old times. For more than 4 centuries, it belongs to the members of one family who carefully store or with love restore to the state of the original everything that goes into the interior: furniture, carpets, curtains, mats, lamps and even clothes. Everything that can not be restored due to dilapidation, is recreated anew, as if copying the original.

The highlight of the Turkish house Kaytaz is an unusual drink, which is offered to heat-exhausted travelers. This juice from the petals of the rose - an unusual taste, a refreshing drink.
