Rotation is called a certain alternation of different types of crops on the site. In other words, you plant vegetables and cereals in the same row in a certain sequence, which makes it possible to constantly receive high yields, preserve the fertility of the land and avoid pests.
Types of crop rotation
Conditionally, all types of crop rotation in the garden are divided according to two criteria: the main product and the ratio of crop groups. In the first case, this alternation of cereals, technical, vegetables and feed. And in the second, the methods of erecting crops are taken into account: continuous planting, legumes, tilled and pure vapors. In our latitudes in the countryside, vegetables are most often planted by truck farmers. If the size of the site is small, it is especially important to use the principles of crop rotation in the garden to obtain a good harvest.
It is important that the vegetable cultures of one family after harvesting are planted on the previous site no earlier than in three to four years. Consider the vegetables that are included in each family according to the crop rotation of vegetable crops:
- umbrellas (parsley with dill, carrots, celery and caraway seeds);
- Solanaceae (eggplant with pepper, potatoes with tomatoes and physalis);
- cruciferous (turnip, radish and radish, watercress, mustard, cabbage);
