Planting material
There are disagreements as to which part of the plant should become the ancestor of the new flower. Some argue that the multiplication of zamioculcas is possible by leaf, while others believe that for this case a leaf stalk with several leaves is needed.
Both variants have the right to truth. Only when the flower grows zamyokulkas leaf of the club will appear smaller and slightly later than the cuttings (twigs). And since the stalk has more strength, then its root system will be stronger.
In the ground or in the water?
Another controversial issue of the florists is how best to reproduce the zamiokulkas leaf - in the water, or plant directly in the ground. In fact, this issue is unimportant, because the roots will develop both there and there the same way, but in the water it will be possible to observe the process, but in the earth there is not.
In order to begin the process of building roots, you should put the stalk or a leaf in a transparent container with clean water at room temperature. The hothouse from the cellophane package does not hurt. Once every few days it should be slightly opened, so that the plant gets oxygen, and it was hardened. After about a month and a half you will see a root, and a little later a tuber - this means that the plant has to be transplanted into a loose ground.
If you decide to grow zamiokulkas in the ground, you will need peat, perlite and a little sand, so that the soil is breathable and friable. For rooting, the plant is placed strictly vertically, covered with a packet and watered regularly.
In a month and a half, roots usually appear, and in another 4-6 months a young one appears near the old leaf - this will be a new plant. Over time, the leaf or stalk, which has served its own, dries up, and the growth actively develops.
