The history of the brand Adidas began in the difficult years for Germany, when the First World War ended. In 1920, the Dassler family organized a tiny family production of home shoes in the town of Herzogenaurach. The shop for sewing shoes was a laundry room. Already by 1924 the company grew up and became known as the "Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory". One of the brothers Adolf (Adi) Dassler, was an avid football fan. Once he had an idea to sew special football boots with spikes. Already in 1928, athletes competed in studded shoes Adi Dassler at the Olympics in Amsterdam. After the death of his father, the brothers decided to split the company. In 1948 one of the sons named his company Adidas (abbreviation from Adi Dassler).
