Types of tiles

The name of the ceramic tile that we are accustomed to is actually collective with respect to different kinds of finishing materials, differing in appearance and, more importantly, the method of production.

Types of wall and floor tiles

Undoubtedly, the most common tile for interior finishing of the house is ceramic tile (tile). This kind of tile is often used for bathroom and kitchen and is a mixture of sand, clay and minerals.

This mixture after the formation is fired and covered with glaze. And it is the glaze that makes it possible to produce tiles of different colors, textures, with different patterns, as well as with a matte and glossy surface.

Another type of tile is granite . In its composition, the raw material for such a tile resembles porcelain, and after processing in appearance - a stone. Ceramic granite tiles are produced by the method of dry pressing with subsequent firing at higher temperatures than conventional ceramic tiles.

Due to the obtained high technical characteristics and the highest resistance to abrasion, this tile can be attributed to one of the most widespread species for the floor.

The third common type is clinker tiles . It is actively used for facing various sports facilities, with floor covering and stairs inside and outside buildings. Also, separately, one can distinguish the appearance of the facade tile under the clinker brick.

This tile is produced by extrusion with firing at very high temperatures, due to which it is possible to obtain a material with the highest frost-resistant and wear-resistant characteristics.

Types of tiles for tracks

For the arrangement of the local area, people often resort to tiles. In this case, there are several types of material for street tracks and sites. This - paving slab, polymer tiles and rubber tiles. The last two types of tiles are the most modern, practical and durable.
