Very often, in the treatment of liver and gall bladder pathologies, hepatoprotective drugs based on bile ursodeoxycholic acid are used as part of complex treatment. These medications include analogues of Urdoks and Ursosan, which doctors can prescribe at the patient's choice (and other similar drugs may also be recommended). Many patients, going to the pharmacy, are asked what is better - Urdoksa or Ursosan, and which of the drugs still prefer. Let's consider, whether there are differences at the given preparations, and also we shall get acquainted more in detail with their characteristics.
Similarity and difference of drugs Urdoksa and Ursosan
Both Urdoksa and Ursosan are available in the form of capsules coated with gelatin. The content of the active substance (ursodeoxycholic acid) in them is also the same and is 250 mg. The composition of Urdoksa and Ursosan does not differ with respect to auxiliary components, the list of which is as follows:
- starch;
- silicon dioxide colloidal;
- magnesium stearate.
That is, in fact, Urdoksa and Ursosan - it's the same thing.
The difference between these drugs lies in their manufacturers, and the associated cost. Ursosan is produced by the Czech pharmacological company, and the manufacturer of Urdoksa is Russia. The price of the domestic drug is slightly lower. It should be noted that all the necessary ingredients of Urdoksi are purchased abroad, therefore they have exactly the same characteristics as that of Ursosan (for example, in the degree of purification of chemical compounds).
Therapeutic effect of Urdoksy and Ursosana
The pharmacological action of both drugs is explained by the influence of the active ingredient, which, after integrating into the cells of hepatocytes, has the following effect:
- expulsion of toxic bile acids;
- decrease in the saturation of bile with cholesterol;

As a result of taking these funds, the severity of the asthenic syndrome characteristic of liver diseases, as well as dyspepsia, itching of the skin, is significantly reduced.
