All parents sooner or later come across the fact that the child needs to pass an urine test. This procedure can be carried out either for prophylaxis or for the detection of complications during various diseases. So, if your child needs to pass this analysis, it will be useful to know the interpretation of urinalysis in children.
General or clinical analysis of urine in children
Currently, for any disease, the doctor sends for the urine test. Indeed, the results of urine analysis in children speak about the state of the whole organism. The doctor conducts a transcript of the urinalysis and determines if it is appropriate. Below are the main indicators that the doctor identifies, and the transcript of the general urine test in the child:
- color of urine. According to the norm of urine analysis, the color should be light yellow. Dark color of urine speaks about possible liver diseases, in particular, hepatitis. Also, dark urine may indicate toxic damage to the child's body. The turbid urine of the child means the presence of an inflammatory process in the kidneys. If the urine is dominated by a reddish tint, it means that the child takes certain medications, or consumes beets in large quantities;
- transparency. According to the norm of the analysis, urine in children should be transparent. The presence of any flakes indicates inflammatory processes of the genitourinary system;
- pH reaction. Norma: it's sour. If, as a result of a general urine test, a neutral or alkaline pH reaction is detected in children, this indicates an inflammatory process in the urinary tract;
- density. Norm: 1018-1025. If, when deciphering the general urine test in children, a higher density is detected, this means that the body is dehydrated and the blood contains a lot of sugar. A lower density indicates renal failure. Also, low density occurs when a child drank a large amount of fluid before taking the test;
- protein. Norm: not more than 0,033%. If a high protein content is revealed during the decoding of the urine test, this means the presence of inflammatory processes and infections in the body. Also, a high protein content occurs after intense physical exertion;
- erythrocytes. Norm: absent or contained in very small quantities. Elevated levels of red blood cells indicate serious diseases of the kidneys, immunological or oncological diseases;
- white blood cells. Norm: absent or contained in very small quantities. If a higher amount of white blood cells is revealed during the decoding of urine, it means the presence of inflammatory processes - cystitis, prostatitis, kidney disease.
A general analysis of urine is made even to infants and newborns. Deciphering the clinical analysis of urine allows to reveal any possible infringements in functioning of an organism of the kid.
Analysis of urine in children by Nechiporenko
Nechiporenko analysis is prescribed in those cases when the parameters of the general urine test in children are normal, but there is an increased content
A poor urine test in a child should not be underestimated. If the urine tests in children do not correspond to the norm, then this indicates the presence of the disease. Even if the disease does not yet manifest itself, it will not pass by itself, but will begin to progress in the near future. Only in time passed the course of treatment will get rid of any complications.
