What are peonies?
First of all, all the peonies are divided into:
- grassy - have a soft trunk, which dies and grows anew each year, they can reach a height of up to 1 m;
- tree-like - they have lignified stems and these sub-shrubs grow up to 2 m.
According to the shape of the flower, peonies are:
- simple (non-primary);
- terry (half-pink, rosy, globose, hemispherical, crown-shaped);
- semi-double;
- Japanese;
- anemonic (transitional form between Japanese and terry).
What was not the structure of the flower, it can be of different colors: white, yellow, pink, crimson and other shades of red.
Peonies of different types can bloom at different times, usually from May to mid-summer. - slightly fragrant - "Carol", "Green lotus", "Claire de Lun", "Cornelia Shaylor", "Western", "Gardenia", "Goody", "Red Charm", "Walter Maines".
New varieties of pions
Despite the fact that there are so many varieties of each type of peonies, breeders every year bring out new ones. The most interesting are the flowers-chameleons, which, as they unfold, are able to change their color. It:
- "Lollipop" - yellow petals with red-violet drops;
- "Hilary" - dark pink turns into cream;
- "Julia Rose" - cherry pink becomes orange-peach;
- "Copper Kate" - red-yellow-orange;
- "Lemon Dream" - half pink and yellow.
