Velvet lacquer

In recent years, women of fashion increasingly prefer lacquer for nails with various "special effects." Manufacturers offer varnishes that simulate craquelure , hologram, surface of jelly, mirror or metal. However, the most elegant looks velvet nail polish. Its other name is suede varnish.

Features of velvet lacquer

Suede varnish very quickly dries - literally immediately after the movement of the brush. It does not need to be applied in several layers, and the finish coat is not used in this case.

Varnish with a velvet effect looks great on the nails of medium and short length, but the surface of the plate should be perfectly flat - without tubercles and strips.

The essential disadvantage of velvet manicure is its instability - the coating lasts no more than two days. If you decide to extend the life of the original design, applying a fixer, then the cherished suede effect simply disappears. But this also makes sense: such varnishes, as a rule, differ in the richest palette and often are "chameleons". Although the fixer makes the nails glossy, the original shade of suede varnish is preserved.

What velvet varnish to choose?

Many manufacturers of varnishes have already managed to create whole "suede" collections. Consider the most popular of them:

  1. Velvet varnishes from Dance Legend (Russia): they are distinguished by a rich palette and an acceptable price (about 3 cu). Hold 2 - 4 days, but difficult to remove. Many ladies do not like the Dance Legend brush, in addition, to make such a quick-drying coating is ideal, you will have to practice.
  2. Suede collection from OPI (USA): it differs in a wide range of shades, among which the dark scale is especially luxurious. The varnish completely dries in 3 - 5 minutes, it is conveniently put (though again it is necessary to be trained). On the nails, the coating lasts 2 - 3 days. The cost is about 9 USD.
  3. Velvet varnishes from Nubar (USA) - these varnishes are represented by rich shades. The cost ranges from 8 to 18 cu. The producer himself positions the velvet collection as "lacquers for one day" - the coating begins to peel off on the second day.
  4. Velvet (sand) varnishes from ZOYA (USA) - the coating lasts 2 - 3 days, it is relatively easy to apply and well removed. The cost is $ 12.

If you are not yet ready for the experiments, suede nail polish will help simulate the velvet coating - it is applied to the classic glossy varnish and creates the same fashionable effect.

Reminder . Suede varnish is not recommended to be applied to the base-top - the layer can "crumble". In extreme cases, you can use the top from the same manufacturer as the varnish.
