Vermox from worms

• Ascaridosis (infection with ascarids);
• trichocephalosis (contamination with vaginal head);
• echinococcosis (infection with echinococcus );
• ankylostomiasis (infection with hookworms);
• trichinosis (infection with Trichinella);
• strongyloidiasis (strontyloid infection);
• teniosis (infection with pork chain).

The most effective Vermox manifests with enterobiosis and trichocephalosis, and it can also be used in mixed helminthic invasions.

The active substance of the drug is mebenzadol, the depressant effect of which is manifested in irreversible metabolic disturbances in the body of parasites. This leads to a gradual depletion of worms and their extinction within 2 to 3 days. Mebenzadol is contained in each tablet of the preparation in an amount of 100 mg. Auxiliary substances Vermox: sodium lauryl sulfate, colloidal silicon dioxide anhydrous, sodium saccharin, magnesium stearate, corn starch, talc and lactose monohydrate.

How to take Vermox?

The dosage and duration of the drug depends on the age of the patient and the type of parasite:

1. When the organism is infected with pinworms, the drug is taken by adults and children over 10 years in dosage of 1 tablet once with repeated intake after two and four weeks.
2. When trichinellosis - 2-4 tablets three times a day for 3 days, and then 4 - 5 tablets three times a day for a week.
3. With echinococcosis - 5 tablets twice a day for 3 days, and then for 3 more days in the same dose, but three times a day.
4. With other types of helminthiasis Vermox is taken twice a day for 1 tablet for 3 days.
5. For prevention Vermox take 1 tablet once a year, preferably after a warm season.

Getting into the human body, the drug is almost not absorbed into the blood, actively acting in the liver and intestines. Vermox is excreted in the urine and feces.

Vermox analogues

To treat the same types of helminthiosis, in which Vermox application is indicated, analog medicines can be prescribed. For example, it can be one of the following drugs: Pirantel, Wormil, Nemozol, Decaris, Helmodol. These drugs have in their composition other active substances and, accordingly, a slightly different mechanism of action on helminths. Often, doctors are asked questions about what is better - Vermox or Vormil, Vermox or Nemosol, etc. There is no unequivocal answer to such questions. Appointment medicinal products is strictly individual, while not only the diagnosis, but also possible negative reactions of the organism, concomitant diseases are taken into account.

Contraindications to taking Vermox

The drug is contraindicated for children under 2 years, during pregnancy and lactation, as well as with the following diseases:

• nonspecific ulcerative colitis;
• liver failure;
• Crohn's disease .
