World Cake Day

In July 2011, on the initiative of the international project of the Milan Love Kingdom for the first time, World Cake Day was celebrated. The participants of this Italian community are creative and enthusiastic people: composers, musicians, cooks, confectioners, etc. Back in 2009, a tradition arose in their environment to gather together and eat music cakes. The first such sweet masterpiece was created by Queen Mary of Jerusalem for the composition of A. Wuyman. And later it was decided in honor of peace and friendship between all people, peoples and countries to establish a World Cake Day. It's so symbolic - to celebrate the reconciliation of tea-drinking with a cake! Then this tradition was picked up by people from other countries.

When do they celebrate the World Cake Day?

A fairly young holiday - World Cake Day - is celebrated every year on July 20. And it passes under the motto "I cake you", which translates "I will come to you with a cake." Many countries joined the celebration of the Cake Day: Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, USA, Israel. Later, people from Africa, Australia, Japan and other countries began to celebrate Cake Day.

On the first day of the Cake Day celebration people from different countries baked pies and cakes and exhibited their photos on the holiday website. After that, the sizes of all cakes were folded, and it turned out that the first "peacekeeping" cake could cover the territory of America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Since that time, the tradition of celebrating World Cake Day has become annual, and the number of participants only increases.

Every year the holiday has its own theme. In 2012, the Cake Day was dedicated to astronautics, which is capable, like no other sphere of human activity, to unite all the people of the world. In 2013, the theme of the holiday was the love of the world around us. This day in 2014 was dedicated to the parade of planets. At the same time, every country and every person in it was equated with a separate planet. And all of us together can demonstrate to the whole world their good feelings and talents. The cake day in 2015 was held under the motto "Visiting a fairy tale". This topic is an unlimited field for culinary creators - the creators of sweet fairy-tale masterpieces.

The theme of the current World Cake Day is "Time Travel". Nobody knows when they created the first cake. Some believe that this happened more than 4 thousand years ago. Therefore, everyone can bake a cake for this holiday, which was fashionable many centuries ago.

Everyone can join the celebration of World Cake Day, regardless of the country they live in and what culinary skills they have. Moreover, the cake can not only be baked, but also painted, cut from paper, tied, blind, etc. The main thing is that it gives pleasure to you and the people around you.

In the framework of Cake Day celebration, many countries organize exhibitions and sales of sweet products, culinary fairs, music confectionery shows, master classes on making and decorating cakes. And you can just arrange a friendly sit-round with a cup of tea and a slice of delicious cake.

Another good tradition was the holding on the World Cake Day of various charity events for children from poor families and orphans. Volunteers arrange a holiday with a sweet treat for children being treated in different clinics.

The organizers of the cake festival are trying to spread the ideas of peace and friendship, unite all people and give them a good mood. Let the life-affirming and cheerful World Cake Day become traditional for the inhabitants of our entire planet.
