The gestation period is 18 weeks and there are no perturbations - is this normal?
At the next appointment in the women's consultation, the future mothers often ask the doctor: "Why do not I feel the movements, after 18 weeks?" An experienced doctor must conduct an examination to determine if everything is in order with the baby.
It should be noted that if at 18 weeks the child does not move, then under normal results of ultrasound examination and inspection, there is no cause for excitement. Perhaps the baby is too small for his movements to vibrate inside the mother's body. As a rule, after 10-14 days the fruit necessarily makes itself felt, thereby dispelling all the excitement of the young mother.
When the fetus does not move at the 18th week of pregnancy, it may be due to:
- inaccuracy in determining the date of conception (this can happen because of inexperience of the doctor, or because of a long or too short menstrual cycle (more than 35 days or less than 21 days, respectively);
- normal features of fetal development;
- peculiarities of the mother's sensitivity (for example, full women feel the baby's movements a little later, and some moms even confuse such movements and the usual intestinal motility).
So, there is probably no excuse for excitement. You just need to have patience and listen more attentively to yourself, to communicate with the baby. Remember that now he is quite similar to the newborn, only many times less. The length of his body is about 12-14 centimeters, and the weight is about 150 grams. As soon as his muscular system gets strong enough and he can perform more or less distinct movements, Mom will be able to feel them inside of himself, and from that time will study their nature, peculiarities, trying to determine from them how her crumb feels, whether all he is well, he sleeps or is awake.
