If you know how to sew or knit, you will not be difficult to make a rug in the bathroom with your own hands. In addition, objects made with their own hands have a special energy - they carry a charge of good, caring and positive. In master classes we offer two different versions of bath mats with our own hands. Before you begin the process of making, measure the size of the mat you need in your bathroom.

How to make a bath mat?

If you own sewing skills, you can sew a rug into the bathroom from an old knitted thing, for example, from a T-shirt.

You will need:

Making a rug:

  1. The size of our product is 40x50 cm. We cut out the basis of the rug, leaving the allowances on the seam.
  2. We cut strips in width of 2,5 sm from the prepared old knitted thing. To achieve better texture, the strips are best cut across fabric fibers.
  3. Pull out the strips so that their edges twist. Cut the strips into lengths of about 10 cm. Prepare the stitched strips on the base so that the seam line passes through the center of the strip. Rows are located at a distance of 2 - 2.5 cm from each other.
  4. Completely sewing strips, we get a mat with a nice soft texture, which absorbs moisture perfectly and is easily dried. Taking as a basis a circle, and sewing strips on a spiral it is possible to make an interesting round rug.

In our case, the size of the rug is 85x50 cm.

  1. On the paper we draw a cross with a vertical line of 80 cm, horizontal - 30 cm. We need it to orientate the center of the product in the process of weaving. Knitting is done according to the scheme. That the product is not deformed, we paste joints.
  2. After finishing the weaving, tie loose ends with tight threads, hide them (sewing or gluing on the underside of the rug).
