Bereginya in Slavic mythology

1. Young girl in white clothes.

3. A beautiful woman with green eyes and an ideal figure.

There are several versions about the origin of Bereginya:

1. Unusual mermaids who do not offend, but guard people, appeared from the water naked or in white shirts. In such bereguinas, innocent girls who died a violent death turned into themselves or committed suicide after the betrayal of a loved one.
2. The strongest relatives of the family after death, so this image was described as a woman in rich clothes with wheat ears in her hair.

Bereguini and ghouls

Bereginya - the goddess of the Slavs was considered the only one who was afraid of ghouls. So called the spirits - the bearers of death and mora. Ancestors believed that such an embodiment of evil were strangers who died not in their native land, but also buried without rite, drunkards or suicides. They were called dead dead people, and the souls of the dead were sacrificed to appease.
