Many often prefer clothes made of denim. Not so much costume jewelry is combined with this kind of clothes and a peculiar style. In this master class we will show you one of the most interesting ideas for creating a bracelet with your own hands - we will make a bracelet of lightning and old jeans. After all, in the wardrobe of each girl there are old jeans and a couple of unnecessary lightning, so why not use this seemingly nowhere applicable material in creating a bracelet?

How to make a bracelet of lightning?

1. For the bracelet, we need stitches from old jeans and an old metal zipper. However, you can use a new one.

2. With a soldering iron with a thin sting, we cut (we melted) the fabric from one side near the very teeth of the lightning. If it is not possible to work with a soldering iron, this is not at all a problem. We just cut the fabric with scissors as close to the teeth as possible, and to prevent the fabric from humming, we melt the edge of the candle flame, matches or lighters.

3. Unzip the lightning and get this strip.

4. Strip with denticles curl in a spiral and fix with a thick kapron thread.

5. Upper, that is, the outer row through the top sewn to the nearest row. We hide the string between the teeth. So we increase the circle, twisting the row by row. Depending on the width of the bracelet, a circle of teeth may be 1-2 centimeters in diameter. In our bracelet, the diameter of the circle is 1.5 centimeters.

6. Cuts the lightning with a soldering iron, melting the fabric between the teeth. If the soldering iron is not present, we cut the fabric with scissors and again we melt the edge of the fabric of the candles, so as not to allow the denticles to come off.

7. Similarly, we make the necessary number of such elements. Depending on the size of the bracelet, or rather its length and the desired distance between the elements, they may need from five to eight pieces. In our bracelet, we use six such elements.

8. Cut the seam from the jeans. It is important to cut it off from the side to which it is tucked.

9. Cut the seam on the other side, leaving a strip of fabric equal to the width of the seam plus a centimeter.

10. Apply the cut strip to the bracelet and measure the desired length of the product. The length of the cut strip should be made two centimeters less than the length of the bracelet, since this missing area will be taken by the fastener. Determining exactly with length, cut off another one same piece of seam with a cloth.

11. For the length of the jeans strips, cut the zipper with the uncut piece. From each edge of the cut lightning with pliers, we remove the teeth, leaving part of the base of the zipper free at a distance of a centimeter from the edge. This is necessary in order to be more convenient to sew the buckle, without bumping a needle on the teeth.

12. Cut the zipper in width so that if you put it inside the denim seam, it does not prevent you from folding the denim strip along the edge of the inner cut.

13. Apply lightning to the cut off seam of the jeans so that the zippers of the lightning are fully peeking out.

14. We fix it with a tentative seam.

15. In the same way we prepare the second strip.

16. Close to the edge on the jeans seam paving machine line. Needle on the machine is better to use a special for denim, or size 100.

17. Fold all the parts together and evenly distribute the created spirals along the length of the bracelet. We plan to fix the spiral points.

18. With a kapron thread we sew the spirals to their places.

19. We fix the thread. You can not cut it, but simply stretch it along the fabric to the next place of attachment of the spiral. So we sew all the elements on one side.

20. Now sew on the other side.

21. From denim fabric we cut out from both sides the elements under the clasp in width equal to the width of the bracelet, in our case 6 centimeters.

22. We fasten the fastener with a suture.

23. We spend perimeter on the typewriter, only from above and from below we recede from the edge to the level of the jeans seam.

24. As a fastener for the bracelet we use Velcro.

25. Sew a velcro, laying a line around the perimeter.

26. We ruffle the edges of the bracelet and fasteners, pulling with the help of a needle threads from a denim fabric.

27. Bracelet made of zipper and denim fabric is ready!
