Crafts from matches without glue

More and more people are beginning to get involved in making crafts from matches . They find a reassuring many-hour process of creating large and small structures out of them. Most often, in order to connect the consumables to each other, glue is used, but some craftsmen figured out how to manage without it. At the same time, such a figure will hold very tight and will not crumble, if it is picked up.

In this article, we'll look at how to make basic figures for crafts from matches without the use of glue.

Master-class №1: wheel from matches without glue

You will need:

  1. First we make an auxiliary assembly model. To do this, draw a circle with a diameter of 4.2 cm and divide it into the number of sectors we need (in our case it is 15 to 24 °).
  2. We glue the sheet with the template in a thick cardboard and break through 15 holes in a circle. The nail along the thickness should be just a little thicker than the match.
  3. We stick vertically into the resulting holes of the match.
  4. Between vertical matches begin to lay out horizontal, each subsequent position overlapping the latter.
  5. To finish the series, you must gently lift the first match and put the penultimate, and then the last. At the end of the match, be sure to press it against the cardboard to make the row even.
  6. In the same way, we make the second, third, fourth and fifth vertical rows.
  7. Finish the same as on the first row: raise the first, push through the last but one and last match.
  8. Press down the whole ring and start squeezing out vertical matches from cardboard. It is necessary to do this according to this scheme, otherwise it can be destroyed.

The wheel of matches is ready!

Such wheels can be made of different diameters, changing the number of used matches taken as a basis. The smaller their number, the already it will turn out a wheel.

Master class №2: ball of matches without glue

You will need:

  1. We put 2 matches at a distance of about 2.5 cm, and on them 8 matches at a distance equal to their thickness, and then perpendicular to them we put one more row of matches. It is very important that the heads of all the matches used in one row look in one direction.
  2. We stack 4 matches with a well. So we make 6 more rows.
  3. From above we put 2 rows of 8 matches perpendicular to each other. It is necessary to observe the same distance, also equal to the thickness of the match.
  4. At the corners we insert vertically 4 matches. To keep the position of the remaining matches from the row, you should put the coin on top and press it down. We do so along the entire perimeter of our cube. It is very important to insert them so that the heads are at the same level.
  5. We remove the coin.
  6. To the cube was strong, it must be squeezed from all sides, so that all matches stand exactly and tightly to each other.
  7. From the cardboard we cut out the circle of the diameter we need. In the resulting template, insert our cube.
  8. I put the matches into the free holes until the end so that the semicircle turns out.
  9. Do the same way alternately from all other sides. Regularly checking the pattern to have a smooth semicircle.
  10. After this, it is necessary to check well that the sides of the matches are smooth and sticky from all sides. Squeeze the entire ball lightly to strengthen it even more.

A ball of matches without glue is ready!

Knowing how to make these basic figures, you can make any product from matches without glue: mill, church, car and others.
