Changed state of consciousness

Modified (introverted) states of consciousness are the opposite of the ordinary extroverted state. In this state, the psyche is engaged in processing information that comes not from outside but from one's own fantasies and memories. Do you think that the altered state of consciousness is unfamiliar to you? By no means, every man is at least once a day in it. The fact is that sleep is also seen as an altered state of consciousness.

The altered state of consciousness is a bit of history

One of the first studies in this field was carried out by F. Mesmer. He seated the patients around the container in which the magnetized rods were located, and injected them into a state of hypnosis (or hypnotic sleep). During the session, new abilities could arise in people. Mesmer considered this a purely physical effect associated with the circulation of magnetic fluids.

Further for the development of this issue were taken by K.G. Jung, R. Assagioli, A. Maslow and C. Tart. They consistently changed their views on the altered state of consciousness, eventually recognizing it as a set of actions of the structures of the psyche, which can vary, preserving the overall performance of the entire system. As a result, the types of altered states of consciousness were:

Entrance to the altered state of consciousness is carried out in different ways: by a complete absence of stimuli, or, conversely, by their abundance, or by using some unusual stimulus.

Entering the altered state of consciousness

In the question of how to achieve an altered state of consciousness, there are many nuances. It is difficult for a newcomer to find a good way out of the body. There are three basic techniques: relaxation and meditation (direct input), entrance immediately after awakening (indirect input), and entry through self-awareness in a dream.

Consider one of the techniques of indirect entry. It includes unusual preliminary training: a strong realized desire to enter this state. Laying up in the evening in bed, tell yourself that you intend to enter an altered state, try to imagine it. The indirect entry that you can make in the morning is much easier than getting an altered state of consciousness through meditation. Waking up, immediately strive to escape from the body, while not moving physically. One day it will happen. For this, try rolling out.

Roll out in the morning, when you just wake up. Without straining the muscles, one must try to roll off the bed directly during awakening. The cortex is inhibited, and you go into an altered state.

Lie still, but mentally make movements, presenting them as realistically as possible. After a few seconds you will notice that they become clear enough and you stop feeling the real body. The sensations that you receive will be so real that you can not distinguish, you move in life or in consciousness.

The most difficult thing is in the morning, until the consciousness has "switched on", remember that you want to change to an altered state, and then you will certainly succeed.

According to experts, in this case there is nothing complicated, and you will easily learn this technique if you regularly try it. Do not expect quick results: someone needs weeks, and someone - months, but usually people manage in the first two weeks. Enter this state in the first stages will work out for a very short time, and only then you can make longer trips.
