Primadofilus for children: composition and indications for use

First of all, one must understand that primadofilus belongs to the category of food additives (BAA) and is not a medicinal product. It includes a complex of probiotics - dried strains of bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria, designed to normalize the activity of the intestine. Excipients: maltodextrin, silicon dioxide, dry corn syrup.

Externally primadofilus is a white (or close to white) powder odorless. The drug is produced in the form of jelly capsules, packed in plastic bottles (90 pieces each) and in the form of bottles with powder (bottles of 50, 70 or 142 grams of the drug). The advantage of the tool is the absence of age restrictions - primadofilus can be prescribed from the first days of life of the baby. However, the drug should not be taken to people with increased sensitivity or intolerance to substances that make up the primadofilus.

Indications for the use of the drug are:

• dysbacteriosis of the intestine of various etiologies and its prevention;
• as a component of complex therapy of allergic diseases (dermatitis, lactose insufficiency, etc.);
• treatment of rickets and its prevention;
• chronic diseases of the oral cavity (periodontitis, stomatitis of viral and fungal nature, etc.).

How to give primadofilus?

In one teaspoon of powder (3 grams) contains more than one and a half billion live intestinal bacteria.

The daily norm for children under 5 years is one teaspoon. You can give the drug in one or two doses. Two weeks after the start of the drug, it is allowed to increase the dose twice (up to 6 grams of dry matter per day). Optimum is considered the reception of funds during the morning and evening feeding. It is also important to remember that the simultaneous administration of antibiotics and primadofilus significantly reduces the effectiveness of the latter.

Like all bacterial preparations, primadofilus needs special storage: the product must be stored in a cool dry place (preferably a refrigerator) in a tightly sealed bottle.

Because of the need to ensure the viability of most bacteria in the powder, primadofilus has a limited shelf life: an open bottle should be used immediately. Powder can be added to any type of food, even in baby food. In this case, it is important to ensure that the child completely ate the intended dose of the drug. It is best to mix the remedy with a small amount of food or liquid (the temperature of which should not exceed 40 ° C at the time of mixing, otherwise the bacteria will die and the healing properties will be lost), which must be eaten completely at the beginning of the feeding. Then the baby can eat the rest of his portion of food (not mixed with probiotics). The diluted product can not be stored, that is, it is possible to mix the powder with food or liquid only just before eating, leaving the finished mixture until the next feeding is highly undesirable. The opened bottle with the product should be stored only in the refrigerator (no more than 5-7 days).

The closed packing of the product can be stored for 24 months (in a cool dry place).
