Chinese garden of tranquility

Malta has always been famous for its ancient buildings, unique temples and museums , but apart from that, Malta, like a sponge, is impregnated with elements of various cultures, because it is here that trade routes crossed centuries ago. The most vivid and extraordinary sight can be found in one of the modern settlements - in Santa Lucia. This is a Chinese garden of tranquility (serenity).

History of creation

At the end of the 20th century (July 1997), a Chinese garden of tranquility was introduced in Malta, at the opening of which was attended by Prime Minister Alfred Sant. Despite the fact that the garden is created in all the architectural traditions of China, it is slightly different from other Chinese gardens.

The garden is an ensemble of traditional Chinese pagodas with a scarlet roof and carved wooden bridges, natural landscapes and small miniatures. Each element of the garden was as if always in this place - from a small pebble to a stream. The park is fascinated by numerous fountains, arches, Chinese-style bridges and winding paths.

According to the idea of the architect, the garden should symbolize the silence and tranquility, the measured course of life at all stages of its development. Attracted masters have accurately conveyed this mood, creating a real masterpiece of landscape art.

Inside the park there is a tea room where you can drink tasty Chinese tea and have a snack, and also buy a souvenir to commemorate this fabulous place.
